Landfills2Landmarks stands with the Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association and global partners in calling for transparent, evidence-based guidelines on the used textiles trade. We support the open letter to UNEP because millions of livelihoods, genuine circularity, and access to affordable clothing depend on standards that are detailed, inclusive, and workable in practice.
Ghana is not a footnote to this conversation. It is a critical node in global reuse and repair. Our role is to bring downstream evidence to the table. Through our shared vision, we are building practical tools that show what arrives, how it is graded, what is resold, and what is responsibly diverted.
We encourage UN Environment Programme to pause the current draft and publish the research methods, data sources, and definitions used, so independent experts and practitioners can review them. We are ready to collaborate with #UNEP, governments, industry, and civil society on clear, fair, and enforceable guidelines that strengthen circularity and protect incomes across the value chain.
